The Two-Family House

"The daily dread of being judged, of being measured and found lacking in some way, no matter how small, was a burden she carried, compact and profound." ~ 17%

Certain things were automatic. Helen had boys; Rose had girls. Wednesday night was pot roast for dinner. Rose and Helen were inseparable and more like real sisters than sisters-in-law. Certain secrets are hidden. In the midst of a blizzard in a two-family house in Brooklyn, 1947, two babies are born minutes apart to two women. One life-changing dramatic event changed Helen and Rose. Their friendship was never the same and steadily unraveled.

The Two-Family House is a debut novel by Lynda Cohen Loigman. It is indeed a family saga that reminds me of the early V.C. Andrews days. I recommend it for bookhearts that prefer women's fiction that is not predictable.

The Two-Family House will be published on March 8, 2016.
