My Series Sunday pick is Triple Cross, the 30th book in the Alex Cross series by James Patterson. A methodical serial killer is murdering whole families. And I don't mean "whole" as in exaggerated slang. I mean, killing the grandparents, parents, children and whatever pets may be in the house too. No generation is safe. No alarms are triggered. No physical evidence left behind.
A famous author pitches a manuscript featuring the serial killer he calls "The Family Man." The true crime author finds clues that other detectives miss. Until Alex Cross and John Sampson get on the case. Meanwhile, Bree is working an investigation out of state. Could there be a link?
I don't know if the Twitter backlash got to Patterson or what, but he dropped a co-author and wrote the heck out of Triple Cross. The action is jumping from the first chapter to the very last page. I stayed up late reading like the days of early Cross novels. Alex and Bree are at their prime, even 30 books into the series. Both are on top of their professional and parenting game. And the thriller part of Triple Cross? 5⭐️ with a cherry on top. Well done, Patterson.
