Series Sunday is a bookish meme hosted by Literary Marie. I encourage all of my fellow book bloggers and bookhearts to play along.

"It's always the ones closest that you have to watch." ~ pg. 88
Eugeena and Leesa meet for lunch at the wedding caterer's food truck. The author writes the scene so descriptively, that I could practically smell the BBQ through the pages. I actually paused, ordered a half rack of baby-backs then continued reading while I ate the finger-lickin' ribs. Back to the story...
When a competitor food truck's owner is found dead, Leesa's wedding caterers/friends become suspects. Usually Eugeena is the one spearheading the sleuthing but Leesa is determined to find out who's framing her friends for murder before her wedding is ruined.
"We give them life and raise them, but they grow into their own person. Sometimes very different from us." ~ pg. 137
This installment was a bit different because the mother and daughter team up to find the smoking gun...and I loved it! More of this duo in the near future please. The thin line between amateur sleuth and not getting in the way of the police investigation was almost crossed. As a result, Moody did a great job bringing more of the minor characters to the forefront.
As I mentioned last week, I am binge-reading most of Tyora Moody's cozy mysteries. They are perfect for light reading in the summer when you want the right touch of whodunit. Now that I am all caught up on this series, I so look forward to the next release!
