Everyone knows I'm completely obsessed with the UK. "US vs. UK" was created by Jenny fromWondrous Reads and it compares covers from books released in the two countries.
Today's comparison is Sweet Valley Confidential by Francine Pascal. The US version is bold, daring, and mysterious. It gives the impression that the blond-haired-blue-eyed twins are grown with secrets. The UK version has a girly teen look and gives a brief synopsis of the book. It asks a question that all Sweet Valley High fans thought at one point. "Haven't you ever wondered what happened when Elizabeth and Jessica grew up?" Also notice that the American cover states "Ten Years Later" and the British cover states "Ten Years On." The UK cover shows both twins, while the US cover only shows one twin. Judging from their estranged status and the drama filled plot, I favor the US cover. Both display the classic circle design, but the blazing red US cover grabs my attention and pumps my excitement to start reading.
