Series Sunday

Series Sunday is a new bookish meme hosted by yours truly, Literary Marie of Precision Reviews. I encourage all of my fellow book bloggers and bookhearts to play along.

  • Read an installment of a series.
  • Post a review/recommendation on your blog, FB, Twitter, Goodreads, or Shelfari pages.
  • Share your review/recommendation by posting the link in the comments section below.
  • Include the title, author, and name of the series so that other Series Sunday participants can add the book to their TBR Lists.
13 Little Blue Envelopes with Bonus MaterialMy Series Sunday pick is 13 Little Blue Envelopes, the first book in the two-part series by Maureen Johnson. Seventeen-year-old Ginny looks up to her free-spirited aunt Peg. Upon her death, she leaves Ginny 13 little blue envelopes. There are four rules and several destinations that take Ginny on a journey. The letters instruct Ginny on what part of Europe to tour next, and detail tasks that must be completed before opening the next letter. Thus, begins Ginny's rapid tour through a foreign land, self-discovery, and insight into her aunt's life.

It's a young adult (YA) book, but it was free so I downloaded it. That pretty much tells you my opinion of the writing style. Although, the story was cute and fun with Ginny's adventures. The bonus material included an excerpt of the sequel, The Last Little Blue Envelope. It closed the suspense by answering the cliffhanging question. Therefore, I doubt I'll read it unless it's free. Quick read for ICLM and teen girls.
