Series Sunday: 10th Anniversary

Series Sunday is a new bookish meme hosted by yours truly, Literary Marie of Precision Reviews. I encourage all of my fellow book bloggers and bookhearts to play along.
  • Read an installment of a series.
  • Post a review/recommendation on your blog, FB, Twitter, Goodreads, or Shelfari pages.
  • Share your review/recommendation by posting the link in the comments section below.
  • Include the title, author, and name of the series so that other Series Sunday participants can add the book to their TBR Lists.
10th Anniversary (Women's Murder Club)
My Series Sunday pick is 10th Anniversarythe 10th book in the Women's Murder Club series by James Patterson. Detective Lindsay Boxer is finally getting married to Joe. Unfortunately, there is no time for a honeymoon or newlywed life. A teenage girl is left for dead, injured, bleeding, and missing her newborn baby. Teeth are pulled trying to get answers from the girl who just won't participate in the investigation. It is a race for time solving the mystery and finding the baby...hopefully alive.

Yuki finally has a case that will break her streak. She is prosecuting Dr. Candace Martin, accused of murdering her husband. The evidence is there. The testimonies are helpful. It looks like a sure win, until Lindsay gets involved by reopening the case and questioning the innocence of Dr. Martin. Cindy gets a chance to work closely with boyfriend Rich. She has the goods on a developing story of women who passed out, wake up near their home with no recollection of what happened but symptoms of rape. There are lots of story lines going on, but intertwined in such a way that it isn't confusing. My only complaint is we only see a glimpse of the fourth WMC member, Claire.

In true Patterson fashion, the chapters are plenty but short. I'm hip to how it tricks my mind into staying up late reading "just one more chapter." But it didn't stop me. I was really disappointed with the last few WMC books, but this 10th installment renewed my hope. It kept me turning the pages, held my interest, and I'm actually looking forward to the next.

Check out the video below of James Patterson discussing this latest release in the series. Good news is that he isn't getting bored with the series yet and feels ten books really isn't so much. Well, I agree. Keep 'em coming, Patterson and Paetro.
