I've Got Your Number

An antique emerald ring with two diamonds. In a family for three whole generations. So precious it was kept in a special bank vault. And Poppy Wyatt lost it. Yes, her engagement ring is lost! After frantically looking for the ring everywhere, Poppy gives her mobile phone number out to everyone with instructions to call immediately if the ring is found. Then her bloody phone gets nicked! (American translation: Her phone is stolen!)

It is a coincidence that Poppy finds a brand new Nokia mobile in the trash bin. Someone threw a phone away! She scoops it up and uses it as her replacement phone, giving the new number out to all her contacts. The Nokia happens to belong to a Personal Assistant of businessman Sam Roxton. She makes a deal to forward all e-mails and messages to Sam in exchange for temporarily using the number.

You can really learn a lot about a person by sharing a mobile phone. You can also really judge a person from their inbox too. And so begins the funny and unpredictable story of Poppy and Sam's lives through this one mobile phone number. It's romantic. It's hilarious. It's memorable. It's a must-read for Kinsella fans and chick lit readers worldwide.

Sophie Kinsella never disappoints. Her characters are lovable, chic, debonair and hilarious. Poppy became my gullible-friend-in-my-head by chapter five. (And I mean gullible in the most respectable yet honest way.) The story is told in first person with 112 footnotes that really make you relate to Poppy and her way of thinking. She's definitely a favorable character!

Favorite Footnote: What is the etiquette when someone's false eyelash is coming off a bit at the edge? Tell them or politely ignore?

I've Got Your Number is chosen for the International Book of the Month! It's out now so scurry and pick up or download a copy today. Check out the two videos below of the book trailer and Sophie Kinsella as she discusses her new novel.
