"For more than a decade, Baz Luhrmann—director of such fanciful visual feats as Moulin Rouge and Romeo + Juliet—has wanted to tackle F. Scott Fitzgerald's masterwork, The Great Gatsby. But the final piece wasn't in place until 2011, when future Gatsby star Leonardo DiCaprio introduced him to Jay-Z at a New York recording session for the rapper's Watch the Throne album. 'We just clicked,' recalls Luhrmann. 'Jay said, 'We've got to do this!'"
